A Jamestown woman was arrested on several charges after an incident Saturday in which another woman was almost run down by a vehicle after she confronted a suspected porch pirate, Jamestown police reported.
Police said the woman told officers that she approached the suspected thief parked in front of a neighboring house after she had seen a package being stolen from her porch on her surveillance camera.
The woman gave police the license plate number from the vehicle as the suspect sped away, almost striking her.
When officers found the vehicle on the city's North Side, police reported, one of the occupants, Kristin A. Dale, 35, ran into a nearby home and locked the door. When she refused to come out, officers entered and took her into custody.
Police said Dale had outstanding warrants for burglary and grand larceny from the Lakewood-Busti Police Department.
