Catherine Joynt and Timothy Moriarty were married at 2 p.m. on July 1, 2017, in St. Joseph Cathedral, Buffalo, where their vows were heard by the Rev. Charles E. Slisz. Guests gathered for a reception at Park Country Club, Amherst. The bride, daughter of Dr. Robert and Cathy Joynt of Medina, is a graduate of Medina High School. She earned a bachelor’s degree in English and a master’s degree in childhood education from the University at Buffalo. She is an elementary school teacher in the Grand Island Central School District. The bridegroom, son of Patrick and Deborah Moriarty of Grand Island, is a graduate of St. Joseph’s Collegiate Institute. He earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University at Buffalo and a juris doctor and MBA degree from the UB School of Law. He is director of business development at McGuire Development Co. After a trip to Maui, the couple will make their home in Amherst.
