A Buffalo man is out on bail after being charged last week by state police with 13 felony child pornography counts and illegally possessing five handguns, according to troopers and court records.
David B. Herby, 48, also was found with a replica police badge and three bulletproof vests, state police said.
Herby has previous convictions in New York and Pennsylvania, troopers said.
He was charged with three counts of promoting a sexual performance by a child and 10 counts of possessing a sexual performance by a child, according to Buffalo City Court records. He also faces 12 weapons counts, as well as two misdemeanor charges of unlawfully purchasing body armor.
Police arrested Herby on Nov. 29. He pleaded not guilty at his arraignment.
City Court Judge Samuel Davis set bail in the weapons case at $35,000 cash or bond. He set bail in the pornography case at $5,000 cash or bond.
