Once a tough guy, always a tough guy.
Former Buffalo Sabres enforcer Rob Ray showed his mettle Monday night when he was bloodied between the eyes when he was struck with a puck from his rinkside broadcast position during the third period of the Sabres-Arizona Coyotes game.
Officials brought over a towel while play was stopped and players and officials checked on Ray, who didn't even remove his headset as he continued to talk.
"Good to go," Ray said. A bandage was placed over the cut and Ray acted as if nothing had happened.
Ray, 55, has been with the Sabres broadcast crew since 2012. Rayzor was trending on X (formerly Twitter) on Monday night.

Ray noted that he would likely need stitches after the game and that his game notes were ruined, but added, "A normal guy would have been carried out of here."
"It felt really good actually. Ray said. "Gimme a stick, let's go."
Ray has not returned a message left Tuesday morning for an update on his condition.
