An investigation into a Monday night stabbing has led to the arrest of a Jamestown man.
Jamestown police said Askiaa Faison, 27, was taken into custody shortly after the victim was found by officers about 7:45 p.m. in an apartment on the city's North Side.
He was charged with first-degree assault, third-degree criminal possession of a weapon and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.
Police said a small quantity of suspected fentanyl was found when Faison was arrested. He is held without bail in Chautauqua County Jail.
Police said officers discovered the victim lying on the floor of the apartment with several stab wounds to the chest. He was flown to a local trauma center, but no other details were provided.
